The Problem

In this activity, you will refer to the International Space Station (ISS) dimension drawings provided below to create a working drawing of at least one of the ISS component structures. The working drawings should contain all the information and detail needed to actually produce the component. The drawings should provide exact sizes, shapes, materials, and assembly instructions. Your working drawings (also known as orthographic projections) should include top, front, and side views of the component you select for your design layout.

If you are a novice to design drawing, we suggest you select the United States Habitation Module, as a starting point. Those who have previous experience doing design drawing may begin with a more complicated component structure from the images provided below.

The completed drawings must include text that defines the scale used, component name, view shown, units of measure, and other information needed for the construction of the structure.
