Welcome to the Docking Challenge!

This interactive challenge has been designed to mirror the types of training and activities undertaken by astronauts and cosmonauts. The concepts, materials, and simulations featured here address fundamental issues in rendezvous and docking in space.

Three levels of exercises are introduced in the form of background activities, training activities, and docking activities. Although each of the levels can be used as a stand-alone module, completion of all three levels will provide the most thorough treatment of the subject. Click on any of the links below to begin the Challenge.

The on-line simulators in this challenge require that the Macromedia Flash ™ 5 plug-in be installed in your browser. If the simulators don't seem to work properly, download the latest version of the Macromedia Flash ™ Player (includes the plug-in) at http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/download/
